Do I really need to install a filter in my heating and ac system?
YES! The air filters primary job is to keep the inside of your equipment and air ducts clean. If your system gets dirty due to inadequate filtration your power bills will go up and your equipment’s life could shorten by up to half its life expectancy!
How often should I replace my filter?
This questions really depends on what kind of filters you are using and how often your system is running. If you are using the cheap fiberglass filters they need to be changed once a month (we recommend to not use these because they are stopping bowling balls and bicycles before they go into your system) If you are using the “90 day” filters they really aren’t 90 day filters! These are really two month filters when you are running your system in the summer and can possibly be 3 month filters in the winter depending on how often you are running your heater. If you would like better clarification on this please give us a call and we can discuss the do’s and don’ts of filtration.
How Often should I get my system cleaned?
Your air conditioner should get a thorough cleaning and check-up once a year and same with your heater. This will ensure that you will get thru the season with no problems and will keep your system running efficiently and keep your power bills down.

Why does it smell so bad when I turn my heater on for the first time?
This happens due to poor filtration. Over the summer months the heater gets a layer of dust, dander, and debris built upo on it from whatever is getting past your air filters and the first time you turn your heater on that is burning off and creating that smell.
